How to post photos??....question.

Could someone please clarify for me how to post photos?? I went to the FAQ regarding this, but the part about.......

"Therefore you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.some-unknown-place.net/my-picture.gif.

......is somewhat 'greek' to me. Can someone direct me to a storage server of this type that they use and would recommend?? Thanks.

I use photobucket.com, but others may use pbase.com or imageshack.us. These sites make it extremely easy to post pictures.

When the pictures are uploaded they give you the text you need to post the picture. Cut and paste that's it.

Do you have any pictures you need to post?

Some photo hosting sites don't want people to steal all of their bandwidth, so they say you can only view the photos on their particular site....you can't post them onto another site.

flickr.com seems to work well. Plus it has that cool 'wow' factor. Oh and it's free.

I like Pbase a lot, but it isn't free. All of the free sites I tried were ad-supported, and I didn't want my pictures surrounded by ads. Pbase has lots of customizable gallery templates that are very easy to use.

I use photobucket's free account for internet posting. I can link images, no ads just a 25mb account size limit which isn't a problem - most pics will be resized for the web anyway and will be small, <250k.

I also use photobucket, I haven’t had any problems as of yet with it. And remember to use the IMG syntax not the other two supplied. It is usually convenient that it resizes photos but occasionally I’ve needed them larger and I cant figure out how to keep them big yet.

Do you have the free version or the Premium version? I have the premium version and it resizes the image if it's bigger than 1 mb, which is huge by the way. I don't know how small the free version is, but they do have restrictions on size.
