Omaha Terminal spotted in Colorado!

My friend Matt and I were out train spotting the other day, east of Denver, and came up to an interesting train.

At the front was an old Rio Grande locomotive, painted in the SPSF post-takeover scheme of '84

Then we watched as a crew put in a New York Central SD70MAC. This train must be heading back east - you don't see these in Colorado often!

The old Rock Island loco was cool, too.

But what really caught my eye was an Omaha Terminal boxcar! Wonder what it was doing out here?

I like the looks of this SPSF 60' hi-cube boxcar.

For those who may not know, the Omaha Terminal RR is a relatively new railroad, just started earlier this year, and I will keep my eye out for more freight cars in Denver. Here is a map:

Thanks, Lou! By the way, I hope Saddle Creek Road is not relocated to the west. Contrary to popular belief by Destination Midtown and the World-Herald, that rail line is still ACTIVE! Hahaha.

nebugeater, *ahem* I think those are just clouds... yeah, just clouds you are seeing there. Do not pay any attention to the man behind the curtain...

Looking Good Eric.

I rail line won't be affected by saddlecreek's relocation, in the new aligment will parrallel each other. And as far as trains swimming, that rail line is at least 50' higher than the creek.

Is east Denver on the edge of the universe? Because the sky looks like it comes down and forms a wall along this rail line. And as someone else pointed out, it appears to be lined with massive (and apparently astronomically natural) electrical outlets.

Gig? I've always knew these shots were of models and not the real deal. You can tell, they have a plastic look and scenery looks fake. But thanks for the pics. Are these from your house?
