Track Day!!

Post by almighty_tuna »

It was a great day to be on two wheels today! Feeling lucky that I was able to combine two of my favorite things to do - photography and motorcycles. Since all I was doing was shooting photos of friends and others who had shown up to ride the course hard, the paddock boss gave me a couple laps when the track was clear. So, the first pic is yours truely! :D

You should have seen the motercycles last night on the West Dodge Expressway. Josh and I were up on the hill taking pictures. You hould hear a bike comming then soon as they hit the expressway they would hit the gas. There was a guy easily doing 100+.

Nice pictures. It must be the 200mm F2.8 L IS
Great composition, color, and razor sharp.

Thanks, guys! Why yes, it was that 200mm f2.8 L IS!! ;) Also getting permission to sit yourself in the corners of the track at the little huts helped a lot, too! Not too bad for noise ... on the turns they're going a lot slower than the straightaway (think 40-50mph vs 100-130) so its not as noisy where I was. I haven't taken the expressway yet. I need to make it a point to do so very soon.

Notsomuch on the mile long wheelie. I'm less of a stunter and more of a track oriented rider, but i'm certainly not averse to picking up the front end every now and then. ;)
