I noticed they have a new awning up for the business but the space isn't closed to being renovated yet. It's located next too Body Art Tattoo.

I like sam and Louis but some Chicago style is needed. It was a sad day when Larios pizza closed.

I got Sam and Louie's for the first time. THANK GOD I had a buy one get one free coupon. Without it, it would have been FORTY EIGHT DOLLARS.
After eating it, I got ripped off paying $24 for that. The ONLY pizza I have had that is worse was Imo's pizza in St. Louis. I have written on paper thinker than Sam & Louie's pizza. Additionally, they must has missed their food shipment that morning and were trying to stretch the remaining toppings they had. In short, that place is a disgrace to the name "pizza."

I've not had S&L's so I can't say anything about it. I'm 99% sure I won't be eating there though, my Old Market pizza dollars goes to Zio's, I love that place. I don't like thick crust pizza.
That all being said, Sam & Louis gives people more options downtown, and that is a good thing. Competition makes things better.

I eat at Sam and Louies all the time for lunch, you can get a Pizza a salad, and a drink for a reasonable price. However I have never gotten take out so I don't know about the prices.
As far as the taste goes... Its No Big Freds, or Mama's, or LaCassa's or Sargent Peffers. However It is Much better than Pizza Hut or Godfathers and they have quite a bit to choose from, The "carnivore pizza", the "California pizza", the "BBQ Chicken Pizza", the "Philly Steak Pizza" and many many more.
It will be a great addition for DTO!

It is now open for business.
Always a business-oriented city hungry for growth and focused on development with laser intensity, Omaha aimed high, reached for momentum and found critical mass.

Indeed nice scenery. Good pizza too IMO, but then I prefer thin crust pizza. It's a pretty cool place. Great addition to the Old Market.

They catered some pizza for the jLofts broker open. That was the first time I had it and I was thoroughly impressed. Get the Sammy's Best, it really is the best.

That place was very cool. The big garage door seating area was sweet.
The only time I had the pizza I was drinking and smoking so I couldn't taste anything. So I can't really weigh in since I couldn't taste it. Plus I'm definitely a Chicago pizza man.

I've always thought Sam & Louie's pizza was pretty average... but their restaurant looks great.

I thought $33 for a 12" three-topping, two tap beers, and a small soggy house salad was pretty steep. Good pizza, though.

I get a salad every time I am there and have never had a soggy one. Its a restaurant, so beer is going to cost more.Big E wrote:I thought $33 for a 12" three-topping, two tap beers, and a small soggy house salad was pretty steep. Good pizza, though.

As far as the pizza goes, I like all the different toppings they have.

Wednesday's at Sam & Louie's (at least in the OM) is the best kept secret in town:
$1 draws - including Blue Moon and Boulevard.
A giant calzone and 9 pints of beer set us back a whopping $17 + tip.

That sounds like a good idea, but after what I heard I did yesterday I don't think I should drink again.

That feeling goes away... Kind of like when you are hung over you say you are never going to drink again... a week later you have 3 beers loaded up in the beer bong and you are ready to work on your Frank the Tank impression!DTO Luv wrote:That sounds like a good idea, but after what I heard I did yesterday I don't think I should drink again.

not only is there no Boulevard in Chicago, but Shiner Bock just came to the area and Fat Tire has only been around since the end of last year. Its amazing how many people hear only drink carbonation light (miller).

Yeah... but that said, there's plenty of choice. Goose Island makes some good beers. 312 is an American Wheat which is pretty good. It's no Boulevard, though. Goose's IPA is spectacular. As an aside, I noticed Goose seems to be becoming more available in Omaha, which is cool.nebport5 wrote:Big E wrote:There's no Boulevard Wheat in Chicago?
