A friend of mine has moved to Omaha, and has discovered that he REALLY needs to learn to drive if he's going to live in Omaha. He's used to using public transportation, but the city bus doesn't come far enough west to do him any good, and he can't afford to take a taxi everywhere.
So we've been looking in to the local driving schools. I've looked on-line and can't find any comments good or bad about any of them.
So... has anybody here used any of the local driving schools? Have a good or bad experience? Can they really teach you how to drive (safely) in only 8 lessons?

this probably wont help any, but when i learned how to drive i took private lessons with a guy. he would come to your house and you would drive around for a good hour or so. he went over everything they would test you on and i found it very helpful. i wish i could remember the name.
