I was starting to look into purchasing a residential investment property or two. Are there any good resources in Omaha to go to in order to educate yourself on all that you need to know? I have looked at a number of online sites, read the Nebraska Landlord-Tenant Act and have spent some time looking rents in certain areas, along with home prices.
I am interested in know things like what to expect for vacancy costs (one place said 5% of rent), expected estimated repairs (again, one site said 1% of the cost of the property annually), etc.
Thanks for any help/

Well, you can read "Real Estate Investing for Dummies", which is a great read. And/or get a Realtor!

You've read the Nebraska Landlord Tenant act and you still want to do this?
Seriously though, I have a financial advisor friend who specializes in helping clients get involved in real estate investments. PM me is you want his info.

My old signature got too old. So old it was getting almost as old me as me. Yeah, it was up there in years.

Have you considered a Vanguard Index Fund instead?
