Possibly stupid question here ... when this happens, do they cancel or hold the scheduled flights at Eppley or do they just let them go on?

I believe that they hold flights, and have a couple of minute buffer on either side of the president's plane taking off or landing. Just a short delay for those passengers. Plus, I'd assume there's a "ground stop", keeping all other planes at their gates, not taxiing around, while Air Force Once is moving around the airfield.

Wasn't there - in recent past - a President who stopped all traffic at LAX while he got a haircut while his plane was on the tarmac?
