2008-2009 schedule is out:

Eisner played for Creighton from 1986 through 1991 and was a member of two NCAA tournament teams. After graduation, he joined Rick Johnson's staff at the school from 1991 to 1994. Eisner moved on after Altman brought in a new staff when he replaced Johnson following the 1993-94 season.
Great hire for the Jays! I am really excited about what he can bring to the staff, he sounds like a really great guy and good basketball coach.Under his direction, Bellevue posted a 226-56 record, won six conference championships and made it to the NAIA Division II national tournament seven times. His teams finished as national runners-up in 2004 and 2008.
Tom Shatel - Omaha World Herald wrote:As he begins his 15th season at Creighton University, Altman has never been more popular. He is revered like a man who has rows of conference championship banners and more than a few pelts in the NCAA tournament. The truth is, Altman has built a machine at Creighton. But it's a machine that comes with limitations.
For instance, CU has won at least 20 games in 10 straight seasons and made postseason play 11 straight years. But in 14 years — the last 10 if you count when the program was finally built — Altman has won two Valley regular-season titles. The last came seven years ago. Meanwhile, season tickets are up from 12,900 last year to 14,000 this year. And CU officials have discussed the possibility of cutting them off, though it's doubtful.
The 2008-09 Jays look like the most athletic team — and most talented collection — that Altman has had. There is a lot to like. This team is favored by everyone to win the Valley. It should win the Valley. There should be no excuses.

Beautiful. I can't wait for season to start. At the end of practice on Wednesday, the Jays huddled up and finished their talk by saying, "Valley Champs!" When he thought that they said it a little too softly, Altman made them come back and shout it again.

The Bluejays return three starters and seven other lettermen from the team that won 22 games last season and advanced to the second round of the National Invitation Tournament. Creighton sophomore guard P'Allen Stinnett was picked to the preseason all-conference team.

Teams in the Mountain West are Air Force, Brigham Young, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, TCU, UNLV, Utah and Wyoming.

From what I have heard the 14,000 is counting the seats that are set aside for students. The 13,600 or 13,700 is not counting the student seats. We should be averaging 14,000 a game.Brad wrote:I thought they were at 14,000?

De'Andre Byrd led the Mules with 15 points. Central Missouri made just 2-of-22 shots from 3-point range.

Thats fine with me, New Mexico isn't going to be a cakewalk.Uffda wrote:My prediction --- a long week of practice.
What a great game!!! CU never took the lead until 1:32 left in the game!Coyote wrote:WOW! 16,107 see a great comeback by CU. Down by 16 with 10:17 left in the game, being outrebounded 18-9. missing Free Throws somehow the Jays come back and pull out a 83-75 win over New Mexico. Awesome beginning of the season.

no kidding...Uffda wrote:My prediction --- a long week of practice.... another long week of practiceand learning what rebounding means.

Once again the tickets sold VS butts in seats issue arises. If you use Brads photos as a benchmark the 16K is a bit of a stretch.Coyote wrote:WOW! 16,107 see a great comeback by CU. And what do you base that on. I was there. I can say with authority that you were not. Your |expletive| really gets old.cp jay 07 wrote:Amazing game, best comeback I have seen a Jays team make in person since the Missouri State comeback a couple years ago. Awesome atmosphere, awesome game, awesome crowd and awesome team. I have never been so excited in my whole life over an opening game. And Syracuse fired their head coach, just an awesome day.
Oh and if there were 7500 in Lincoln to watch that team then there were 22,000 at the Qwest.

That was great!Coyote wrote:The largest crowd noise came near the end of the game when Dustin Sitzmann drove the lane for a layup
