Its part of their "Wild about Omaha" (or whatever the name is) celebration.... Expect it to be up for most of the summer.

Mutual of Omaha building sign

They're starting to hang another banner on the Mutual of Omaha building. The only photo I could find was on Facebook.

I noticed the other day the lights were all set up. The banner should be going up this week!

I haven't been down that far yet. I can merge them if you want or since they are your photos I can leave the photos in the photo section?

No worries. I wouldn't call them "my" photos. I found them on the web and just posted the links. :;): You can merge if you'd like, makes no difference to me.

Yes. Just right click on any picture and copy the properties. Paste it, then use the [img] and [/img] tags.

It's SO cool that they're doing another giant banner like this. This is type of thing looks KICKASS and is really the kind of thing that shows Omaha to be an exciting, cosmopolitan city because it's SO visible.

So would it be ok if everyone hung a giant sign on the entire side of their building? Just curious about what folks on here think.

From what I understand it's not that simple. There are a lot of city permits and hoops to jump through. I think we should just appreciate that this is something super-cool that Mutual is doing and leave it at that.

I've heard that the lights at night are really cool - someone here should try to snap a pic. Hint hint!

The link, about 3 posts up, is a night picture. And I just found out that the green leaves "sway".

Yeah it's pretty sweet. I'll have to see about getting a vid clip of it since the leaves move around.

On a side note, when I drove by the other night there was a large area of broken glass out on Dodge street. The banner and lights might be a bit too cool. :;):

Another fun fact - someone at Mutual told me that there are 2 special orange spotlights that are pointed at the eyes. If you saw this pic on the front page of the Midlands section today it looks creepy, but totally rad.

It's lopsided, and taken from a lazy angle. Twenty more feet west and the photographer would've been centered.

Drove by this last night on the way to RHPS, it looks tres cool.

I don't think the original photo in the OWH was that tilted, and it had more lights towards the bottom.

Totally agree. Were the police coming for you in that first photo? I like how you did the two different exposures.
