I am hoping that the article today motivates the students to go as well as the general public. Creighton needs to keep winning right through the valley tournament.

I wish, 90% of them will never see the article, and the other 10% either post on the bluejay cafe regularly, read it regularly, or are extremely active members of the birdcage..

Yeah and 20 of those views are me checking the Cafe whenever Im bored. I think I have logged in 6 times already today, its call an obsession.

But seriously I agree with OmahaJaysCU, bitching on the Cafe does nothing. I know that every student poster, out of the 20 or so that do post on there, go to every game. A lot of those guys have been fans before their time at CU. They grew up in Omaha and know Jays basketball history. The students that need to be targeted are the ones from out of the area, the ones that don't know the names Rodney Buford and Red McManus. We need to get them to realize that Creighton has a basketball history beyond Nate Funk and Kyle Korver, they need to know about Benjamin and Silas and Gibson, the greats of the program. heck I remember a game this year where I was sitting with friends and one student from out of town asked where the Jays played before the Qwest and when they moved to the Qwest. . I thought that was common knowledge, I mean where the heck else would they play.

Who are the 'Bluffs' ? Surely not Arkansas Pine Bluff, hah!

Seeing their not on that list... I assume that #1 is supposed to be Kentucky.

That is phenomenal for Creighton... albeit just a number (they certainly aren't putting that many butts in the seats!)... especially impressive when you consider Creighton's enrollment (although I guess we know the students aren't doing anything to contribute to the attendance)

I don't know what is up with "Bluffs" either Jeff. I saw the list elsewhere and it had Kentucky as number 1, which makes a lot more sense.

I think it was an error:

1. Kentucky, 22,655.
2, North Carolina, 20,922.
3, Tennessee, 20,783.
4, Syracuse, 19,650.
5, Louisville, 19,337.
6, Memphis, 17,562.
7, Wisconsin, 17,230.
8, Maryland, 16,790.
9, Kansas, 16,363.
10, Creighton, 16,043.
11, Arkansas, 15,593.
12, Marquette, 15,431.
13, Illinois, 15,305.
14, Ohio State, 14,803.
15, Indiana, 13,933.

EDIT--- WORD CENSOR IT IS CHANGING K-E-N-T-U-C-K-Y TO BLUFFS.... ADMIN?

I wondered. I was thinking it was AK Pine Bluff but I knew they were no where near top attendance.

Any word on the cheerleader that was injured and taken off with much help. I was listening off and on via radio while driving and it sounded like it sounded like it was taken seriously as it should have been. Have not seen any followup yet.

Cafe says it was a minor concussion and she was released from the hospital last night. I couldn't watch or listen to it bc i am out of the country, but it sounded pretty brutal.

That is good news if she was released. The little they knew and were able to report on the radio as it happened last night sounded concerning. I think back to the Husker cheerleader that was injured permanently a bunch of years back at the football stadium doing a jump.

I remember watching that SIU cheerleader fall in the MVC a few years back. Pretty scary situation. I am honestly surprised that stuff like that doesn't happen more often. Would it not have happened on Duke UNC night, Sportscenter would have probably given an update on it.

No, what did they say? I can't hear them unless they get REALLY organized, which is almost never...

The two I have heard from them lately are:
1. Where are the students?
2. Valley Refs.

Well, I guess it sounds like less of a chant and more of one drunk guy yelling at the top of his lungs. Its sounds like AY was shooting some free throws and one of them yelled at the top of his lungs that such and such for Bradley was a C*ck S*cker...A ton of people are upset off about it on the cafe, just wondering if you heard it.

This will be a fun two weeks to end the season. I am cautiously optimistic that we can win the conference, but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. Take care of Evansville on Tuesday.

It's sad to think they could finish in the high 20's and not make the tournament... hopefully they'll get a very serious look regardless of whether they win outright or win the conference tourney.

Scheduling, scheduling, scheduling. A tiny little part of me kind of wants us to just miss out on the tournament so Dana will get over his refusal to play the big guys without a return game. But like I said, that is just a little part of me. Bob Knight things we should be considered during Gameday. We will need some help though (Dayton cough)...

Good coverage on NET last night. Kugler did a nice job of PbP as always.

Did kind of find it ironic that the Non-advertisement / "fillers" on NET last night included a bunch from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln saying this broadcast is partially sponsored by funding by the Univ Of Nebr - Lincoln College of ______ (fill in the blank)

The dream is still alive...the Jays have to keep winning. That match up with ISU on senior day could decide the conference title. UNI has to go to ISU (red) still, which will be extremely difficult to pull off.

CBS mad at Action3news.....

Action3news will show the Creighton Game next Tuesday and not Obama's State of the union. CBS is mad and will not let Action3news join the coverage "already in progress" so Action3news will have an extended post game show.

Great for Action3news. That speech will already be on 10 other stations.

The game drew 17,411 to Qwest Center Omaha, the fourth-best crowd in school history. The turnout included 1,167 students.
I don't know about the sell out part but it is about time the students showed up.

Also right now looking ahead to next year.... they are going to miss Booker.
Woodfox made 8 of 10 shots, including 5 of 6 3-point baskets. The senior came into the game as the country's top 3-point shooter, having made 50 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc.

i could be wrong, but i don't think there were 17,411 people there. Considering they say that it will hold 17,600 for a basketball game, that definitely shows the difference in tickets sold, and butts in seats. It was still pretty full, but i don't think that it was that many...

yeah, it was a pretty good game. I was a little nervous for a sec, because Creighton lives and dies by that 3, and they went cold for a few minutes. Then the second half: dang. I missed going to the Qwest for events, i really enjoy the whole venue. I must say that i was pleased and impressed that they could have a convention and game going on at the same time, and it was relatively easy to get in and out, and there weren't huge jam-ups of people.
