Nebraska was hanging with Georgia Tech right up until about 2 minutes before halftime and then it got away from them. It is still too early to tell but it looks like the number one problem for this team is going to be a weak defense. I agree we hong with them for most of the first half. I chalk it up to both teams playing really poor to that point.

The missed layups just can't happen if you expect to win. This will just be a crazy unpredictable first year for Hoiberg.

Odds makers have Creighton as a 10 to 11 point favorite over Nebraska. I think they got the point spread about right and it would be a close bet no matter which team you bet on but I think Creighton will cover.

NU was 9.5 underdogs to GT. How are they only 10-11 to Creighton at home? You can see earlier in this post where you said that you hate to see how much Creighton is going to be favored by....

Georgia Tech was only favored by 8.5 points by game time........Yeah I could see Creighton being favored by 15 points or more. If Creighton was favored by 15 or 20 points then Nebraska might be a good bet. Since Creighton is only favored by about 10 then I would bet on Creighton.

The spreads I saw had GT favored boy 8 - 9 three days before the game.

31 to 7 with 7 minutes left in the first half. Nebraska has no defense and the offense is ice cold. This is going to be the worst beat down of the year by far for the Huskers.

Wow. Creighton could of put up 100 if it had wanted to. Nebraska will not win 10 games this season with that Defense.

The final spread of the game is why I was questioning the point spread. Ended up pretty close to where I thought it would be.

What was surprising about this nearly 100 points piled on Nebraska was the way Creighton did it. This was not the result of Creighton getting red hot and bombing Nebraska with 3 point shots. Many of these Creighton points were easy lay ups and uncontested shots. Not to take anything away from Creighton but the Nebraska defense was lacking in effort and motivation. The way Nebraska players are shooting they can not expect to have any chance of winning games if they are going to let the opponent score so many easy baskets.

Nebraska is close. All they need to do is improve the offense, defense, and free throw shotting and they will be where they want to be.

Nebraska is an 18 point underdog at Indiana tonight. The bookies are right on this one. Not much of a chance that Nebraska wins this game. The under/overs is 149.5. Looks like the bookies got that number pretty close. With Nebraska's weak defense you got to figure Indiana is going to make a run at scoring 90 points. No way can Nebraska win if they got to score 90 points.

I figured it would be around 20 points so I was close.

I imagine Sunday at home against Purdue will be a spread of 20 or so too.

That was the best game we have seen this new Nebraska team play by far. Nebraska really couldn't slow Indiana down but they were able to hang with them. The announcer said he thought Nebraska could make the tourney this year. No! That ain't happening but they sure looked a lot better then they did against Creighton last Saturday. Yvan Ouedraogoy was the weakest link especially in overtime he cost the Huskers dearly. He is amazing though out there playing against the famed Indiana basketball team and him being from France and only 17 years old. He was out of gas in overtime but he was still the best we had. Sure could of used Green but he was suspended before the game and we never were told why. Nebraska has a chance against Purdue Sunday and I would not have said that before tonight's game.

When Nebraska was down 4 with a minute left in regulation, I thought no way they get to OT. Good game for NU.

This will be a roller coaster season. There will still be lopsided losses. I still think we lose big Sunday.

Odds makers have Purdue favored by 12 in tomorrows game. I won't be venturing over to the casinos today but if I was I would bet Nebraska to cover. I do not think Nebraska will win but they could cover the point spread. If the Huskers we saw Friday night show up tomorrow there is no way Purdue will cover. I think Nebraska will be stoked after going into Indiana and taking that game into overtime like they did.

I could not have been more wrong on my prediction for Sunday. I still think we have a long ways to go but last weekend looked good. I can still see several more lopsided losses in Big 10 play, but it is nice to see us play like we did Friday and Sunday.

Nebraska is a 10 point favorite over North Dakota on Saturday. I would bet on Nebraska on this one. N Dakota is one of the worst teams Nebraska will play all season. The way Nebraska has been playing they are going to give N Dakota a good whooping.

Marion Stewart looked like Teen Wolf as he was running circles around the Huskers and just running right up the middle and scoring crazy lay ups. It was terrible defense for sure. Then with 7 seconds left to play and Nebraska needing only 2 points they in bound the ball and promptly run up and fire off a wild heavily guarded 3 in the corner while other players are wide open. Its safe to say that was not what he was supposed to do. I would expect Tim Miles to call a stupid low percentage last shot like that but not Hoiburg. He knows better then that. More then likely the player went rogue.

Could not disagree more. He does well with the fans, seems to be making the right moves in coaching, fund raising is on a roll and making great moves in facilities.

Are you talking about Frost and the years down the road?

With the increased in donations since Frost was hired I think it would more than off set any buyout. You don't pull the trigger on Frost (and lose him to another team like Florida) and I think ticket sales and donations plummet.

Everything points to NU having more funds than ever.

I think he's made the logical hires here. Frost for football. Bolt for baseball. And with this thread, Hoiberg for basketball. I remember when Hoiberg was mentioned as a possible hire for basketball, there were some on here that thougt it was laughable that NU could get him.

This was the last easy game on the schedule and we won't be seeing Nebraska favored by 10 points again this season. Next game is Rutgers on Friday night in Lincoln. Nebraska will be favored by 2 or 3 points no doubt. Nebraska has a 50/50 chance of winning at best I would not touch that bet.

Agreed. I don't see NU being favored by double digits again this year. I imagine in 3/4 of the games we will be an underdog and double digit underdog in several.

It won't be boring.
