On the bright side, Creighton just moved up to #24 in the NET rankings with their two losses coming to #1 SDSU and #14 Michigan.

Nebraska is 178.

Yet the World Herald story will be how the Jays opponents will fall apart, making their RPI fall, and then another story will show the 1 scenario in which Nebraska will make the tournament, consisting of a Nuclear Apocalypse and the planet being devoid of most life.

Thats a done deal alright. Creighton is favored by 4 over Marquette tonight. I don't know much about Marquette but I do know Creighton is looking pretty good these days. I would feel good betting on Creighton if the Casino was not 20 miles away.

Also, what’s really satisfying about the Jays win tonight, is they held Markus Howard to a mere 18 points on 16 shots. I think last year in Omaha he scored 50+ in Marquette’s OT win. This guy has been a MAJOR thorn in the Jays side and they handled him tonight..

CU is making progress. This Saturday is a huge test on the road vs Butler...

The game was 92-66, until the bench came in and gave up a 9-0 run to end the game.

Creighton's starters were clicking on all cylinders. The big 3 (Tyshon, Mitch and Z) are all playing well in all faucets of the game right now. Not to mention, that Mahoney is there to drive to the bucket when the outside shots aren't falling. Great to see the balance the team has. Imagine if Krampelj would have come back. The post is the only weakness right now.

They have a very balanced attack with those big three scorers. The next couple games will be good tests for this squad, but I think they match up well.

Tough loss for the Jays today.. 71-57 Butler...

CU hung in there and played tough in the 2nd half and were down by 6 with a bit over 2 minutes left, but could not throw the ball in the ocean and Butler pulled away late..

Villanova is next...

If someone else would have helped Zegarowski in the first half, they probably wouldn't have dug such a hole. Tyshon only had 2 pts at half....granted he did score 9pts with 6 rebs and 4 assts in the 2nd half.

CHI should be rocking for Tuesday's game vs Nova.

I think they'll take Nova at The Hospital Arena, but I don't know about in Philly. I need to see Creighton play on the road with some success first.

Creighton is a 2 point favorite tonight. I would of bet Creighton if I was near the Casino today . Betting basketball at the Casinos is a drag because you can only bet on the games the day they are being played not like football where you can bet on games 5 or 6 days in advance.

Bad home loss for the Jays tonight. Like Saturday, CU’s mid range and 3 point shooting failed them. Marcus Zegarowski simply could not finish and seemed to just wildly throw up shots and miss them..especially in the 2nd half. Mahoney lacked the ability to finish as well.. Against elite competition like Villanova, the Jays simply can’t execute offensively like this. Terrible shooting, too many 2nd half turnovers and getting out rebounded on the glass.. Again- a bad, BAD conference home loss for CU...

They had the lead, a good sized one, and blew it. That seems consistent with past Creighton teams, or rather, this is the Creighton I have come to expect and not the Creighton that handled Marquette or Texas Tech. Situation normal, bummer.

At the time it happened I thought it was the stupedist thing to do. But. The Jays were up by 6 after Jay Wright's technical, and then they won by 5. After Wright's technical the Jays were outscored by 11.

Frustrating that the Jays couldn't have gotten a bigger lead in the 1st half when Nova was playing terrible. It is so hard to keep watching the Jays get the lead and then not being able to close games out. The coaches and players need to light a fire and get it going. This team needs a Marcus Foster type of player. I thought Zegarowski was that type of guy, but this is the 2nd game in a row where he has struggled to stay composed and handle the pressure.

77-65 Jays..

The Jays needed this road game at Xavier and got it. Huge win! Their perimeter game and 3 pointers were falling today-especially timely ones in the 2nd half.. Christian Bishop has been playing at an all conference level. The other thing I liked, was the Jays decisiveness today. Minimal hesitation..

Back to .500 in Big East play...

The Jays are ranked #25 in the AP poll for the first time this season.

Huge win @ Xavier on Saturday....imagine if they would have held on to beat Nova last week, they would be top 15-20 for sure.

Great to see them ranked and nice to see the success but the one win would not have been worth that many added poll spots. Too many other teams with success too.

One team I can't understand is Iowa....how are they ranked in the coaches poll? Sure they beat Texas Tech and now Maryland, but they also lost at home to DePaul by 15 and @ Nebraska. They have 5 losses and shouldn't be anywhere near being ranked.

Tough road loss for the Jays tonight. Nip and tuck for most of the game..CU had many opportunities to win. The Jays defense failed them tonight..

Excellent mid range shooting for the Hoyas. Doomed CU..

And for the gambling contingent, which I believe on this forum is a party of 1, the only reason the Jays lost by 3 was Marcus Zegarowski hitting a garbage 3 with .07 seconds left on the clock..

Tough loss for the Jays, I am glad they at least got one out of 2 on the road, but this was a game that they easily could have won. If their defense was anywhere near the level it has been lately, this would have been an easy win. Instead they were lazy and didn't go after rebounds the same way. Also doesn't help when Tyshon and Mitch don't show up until the last 5 min of the game.

The point spread where I bet yesterday at the Horseshoe Casino was 3 points. Since the point difference was exactly 3 points it is called a push which means that you get your money back because there was no winning bet. The good news for me was that I bet Creighton on a 2 team parlay with Tulsa who covered the points easy last night. In that case since Creighton pushed so the Parlay turns into a straight bet on Tulsa. I won but not much!

Nice, thanks for the details, I had a friend place the bet for me and thought that the spread was 3.5, but that must have changed. Either way, I wasn't a winner in this case.
