First win by the Jays when scoring less than 60 pts since Nov 29th, 2014 when the Jays won 57-47 vs Middle Tenn.

Huge game today, especially with all the distractions Creighton’s had. Georgetown is a hot team and have plenty to play for.

Creighton is an 8 1/2 point favorite today. After beating UConn yesterday the tournament was all but won. Creighton will cover and win comfortably.

Pathetic shooting performance by the Jays in the first half. Low post and perimeter games are both anemic.. On the other side- The Hoyas are playing with more confidence and out shooting/out hustling/out working the Jays.. Jahvon Blair is killing CU..

Lousy free throw shooting adds to the Bluejay woes..

Not having Reef available today hurts. Don’t like what I’m seeing at all..

Georgetown is just the more confident team. This may be the most pathetic half of basketball I’ve seen the Jays play all season. Awful performance by CU.. It’s embarrassing..

Halftime and Creighton is shooting like a high school girls basketball team with a half time total of only 18 points. At half time the points spread has drastically shifted with Georgetown now a 10 point favorite. We know this Creighton team could easily come back but it ain't looking promising. Just the same that still looks like a great bet taking Creighton getting 10 points.

Always cool to see Patrick Ewing doing well. He was one of my favorite players way back.

This game is reminding me of the Baylor tourney game, I think it was 2014. I was hoping Creighton was beyond games like this one, but phew, wowza.

Not entirely sure why McDermott put in Canfield et al when Creighton as barely building a lead, too. That was an odd decision early in the game. Have to wonder what this does to their confidence heading into the Tourney, but early thoughts are not a long stay (again).

Well, I’m waving the white flag..

The game was over at halftime. I believe this is a case of Georgetown playing at the peak of their game..and the Jays turning in their most pitiful performance in recent memory..

Nick Bahe said it several times during the radio broadcast- How shockingly bad their performance tonight was. Ziggy came to play- but everyone else seemed to have their confidence stripped away from them..Similar to the way the Jays of 3+ seasons ago would wilt like a flower during first round NCAA Tournament games.. APB looking for Denzel Mahoney..as he failed to show up for the game tonight..but he wasn’t the only culprit.

I’m willing to give CU the benefit of the doubt that tonight’s performance was an anomaly..but I feel extremely nervous now of an underachieving performance by the Jays in the NCAA Tournament next week..

I am not quite sure why I kept watching the game. Nothing to see from CU's point.

Z shot 7-8 and 3-4 from 3. The rest of the team: 10-51 and 6-30 from 3.

Denzel needs to get his shot back...not sure what that takes, but driving a little to the hoop would be a start. He hasn't done that all year.
DJ played his worst game of the year.
Mitch didn't bring much.
Bishop was horrible.....

Georgetown looks way better than a .500 team. They obviously have found something that’s working good . Be interesting to see how far they can go in the NCAA tournament. Terrible loss for Creighton.

I think after sleeping on this one..I’m beginning to think the Jays exhibited (and exerted) so much fight and effort to prove a point and win a physical, rock-fight of a game over UCONN the night before..and sweeping them 3-0 this season..It was almost like the body language of the team vs Georgetown yesterday was- what more do we have to prove..and after jumping to a 13-6 lead, then getting out scored like they did from that point into the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half, it was like watching a totally different Jays team from the one we watched for 27 games this season..The coaches in post game could not explain why the team looked so much different last night. Coach Mac said it was their worst game since getting blown out by San Diego St last season..

I wrote yesterday that they had their confidence taken away from them by Georgetown..but I also think, as crazy as it might sound, they lost interest and started thinking ahead to next week..Like “what’s the point?”..

I dunno. What I do know, is they better have their act together starting next week..Get their defensive intensity up, exhibit toughness in the paint and at least shoot average from the perimeter. Or the Jays will have yet another underachieving, frustrating early exit from the NCAA Tournament..Much to the utter disappointment of our fan base...

Makes last year even more disappointing. At that time, they looked poised to make their deepest run ever, or at least put up a fight in a sweet 16 game.

Now this year they are coming into the tournament flat. Looks aren't everything but they don't inspire a ton of confidence right now.

When does the tournament start then?

I wouldn’t say flat..The Jays played very good to great ball for 3 games prior to the Georgetown debacle last night.. I’m willing to call that game a one-off anomaly because they have not played, overall, that poorly all season.. The Jays have lost by double digits only 2 times all year and yesterday was the 2nd time..

Selection Sunday is later this afternoon and the Tournament gets underway in totality this coming Thursday.. I think we may have play in games this Wednesday (haven’t checked so not 100% sure on this)...

Wrong choice of word there. They did make it to the championship game after all, just not a good feel to get blasted by the 8 seed. I could see them maybe winning two games. Par for the course.

Yeah never mind. Hadn't realized they've never won two games and the way espn shows the schedule is kinda confusing.

Last year they might a won two games. This year I see another one and done. But to make it to the second round would be par, so hopefully if they can do that, they don't get embarrassed again.

One thing that does suck, is if they Jays would have won last night, they possibly could have snagged a 4 seed in the tournament..As it stands now, I think they’ll slot in at a 5 or 6 seed..

It all depends on what Jays team decides to show up as always. If that garbage we saw last night happens, UCSB is sending them home. Thankfully no Baylor like teams though.

I see the Jays dropped 2 spots to 19th. I thought they’d pretty much stay where they were last week at 17..

I also see the Jays NCAA 1st round opponent- UC Santa Barbara, clocking in at 36th. I hear they’re pretty dang good and not a team CU can sleep on..

And 4 Big10 schools in the Top 10? Really?? I hope that conference falls flat on their face in the Tournament because I think they’re overrated..and have been pretty much all season...

I don't know man. Did you watch that championship game yesterday between Ohio St and Illinois? The big 10 is the real deal for sure. I picked Illinois to win it all in my bracket. I got Creighton going out in its 2nd game against Virginia.

Yeah lol. You’re probably right. I was in rant mode when I saw the final rankings..

I take it game by game.. My hope as a Jays fan (which I think is the hope for the vast majority of our fan base) is to reach the Sweet 16.. They have a decent shot of getting there. Virginia, the 2019 National Champion, would be a tough 2nd round out. No question about that...

I have been saying it all season, but I also think the Big 10 is way over rated. Sure, there are 2 elite teams (Ill and Mich) 2-3 really good teams (Ohio st, Iowa and Purdue) but I am just not sold on the rest of the Big 10. I mean, WI lost 4 of their last 5 and 6 of their last 8.
