I mean, WI lost 4 of their last 5 and 6 of their last 8.
The beauty of it, is how these conferences perform in the Tournament will help us gain insight on how over rated and over hyped each conference is..vs ones that are more under the radar.. For example- This year, we have Iowa, finishing 21-8..not reaching their conference championship game..yet sitting with a #8 ranking, On the other hand, the Jays finish 20-8, at least play in their conference championship game and enter the Big Dance ranked 19th..

I wish the stars would align this season so the Jays could play Iowa..and as the bracket reveals, both teams are seeded in the West regional with the Jays the 5 seed and Iowa the 2. They could play..But that would require both teams reaching the Elite 8 in the West.. Now imagine- How fun would that matchup be :thumb: ...

The journey for our Jays (hopefully) reaching the Sweet 16 begins today with the “First 4” games starting the NCAA March Madness Basketball Championship Tournament.. The Jays play this Saturday afternoon at 3:30cst against UC Santa Barbara..

The anticipation is starting to build...

The past few days I've had a bad feeling about the game Saturday (also, the Weird Herald lists the game at 2:30pm not 3:30pm?), it's weird how much of a funk that Georgetown game has put me in regards to this Creighton team. Then you factor in the lack of past success and plenty of heart break the Jays have had.

I think the entire Jays Nation has an uneasy feeling heading into the tournament considering coach Mac’s dismal 3-5 record with CU in the NCAA’s and the team’s dismal shooting performances in each loss..

But, we can only hope..

I also noticed the W-H 2:30pm Saturday start and they are correct! It’s 2:30 Central. I could have sworn I saw another publication show 3:30 CST when the brackets were announced Sunday..so I stand corrected...

Welp, two of the 86 Big Ten teams to make the Tourney have gone down. #2 Seed Ohio State and #11 Seed Michigan State.

Speaking of the Big 10, funny that two of their better teams Ohio St and Purdue have already lost, while Wisconsin, who was struggle mightily towards the end of the season scored their most points since Christmas in a victory.

So far the Big 10 is 3-3 in the tournament.

Hopefully the Big East fares better (1-0 so far) but 3 games scheduled for Saturday.

Bummer for Georgetown. Colorado was on fire, and Georgetown was held/and or went ice cold.

Another lousy start for the Jays getting down 16-8 early..

Christian Bishop is keeping the Jays in the game thus far. Ziggy finally found his stroke. Defense was inconsistent the first 10 minutes but played much better the last 5..

Jays 34-30 at the half...

Why can't they Jays just have an easy win in the tournament for once. Up 47-37 and with 1:30 left up 61-58.

My heart was pounding the whole time.

Who would have thought that we win by Bishop hitting 2 Fts. NO ONE!!!

Its good to be lucky, not sure how their big missed a layup over Reef to win the game.

Obviously very, very happy for the win..

But man, the Jays must play better next game likely vs Virginia..or it’s one and done..and yet another Sweet 16 miss..

I really think it was Christian Bishop’s performance that won the game for the Jays this afternoon. It’d be nice if the stars would align and CU consistently hit perimeter shots again..

On to the 2nd round...

UCSB did prove it, but I am going to be so glad that all the "talking head's" brackets were wrong on this one. Out of all the celebrity's that I saw, only 2 out of about 40 picked the Jays.

Just more underrating of the Jays and the Big East conference.. I’m glad their brackets busted. The Big East is 2-1 thus far with UCONN playing later today..

I will say this- a game like today, 3-4 years ago, the Jays would have lost.. They showed some grit in coming back being down 6 after squandering a 10 point 2nd half lead...

Yes, absolutely crazy that the Jays won a NCAA game shooting less than 30% from 3.

They absolutely showed some mental toughness down the stretch top regain the momentum. It was a tough back and forth game, and they didn't fold.

Here's some wishful thinking, but hopefully the Jays are due for one of those games where everything is firing on all cylinders.

Yes, if they hit on all cylinders like they did against Butler or Seton Hall this year, watch out. Hopefully we win another game on Monday and that break out game is vs Gonzaga in the Sweet 16.

In other news, Drake is going to be a pain in the butt for opposing Valley teams for years to come. It's a shame they weren't full strength for the Tourney.

It was suddenly very obvious that Creighton was going to be in for a rough ride this tournament by the second half of the Colorado vs Georgetown game. The same team that just beat Creighton for the BIg East Championship was getting out classed in skill and talent by Colorado. You knew right then that Creighton was going to be lucky if they got by UC Santa Barbara.

I agree with you and skinz here.. Maybe they needed this tough grinder to get them over the hump..

It’d be fantastic to see one of those “firing on all cylinders” games once again..Especially on a national stage...

Does ESPN know what they are talking about? Here is the quote from the game recap:

Well heck, if ESPN says Doug has some eligibility left, let's bring in him for a game or 3.

Good to see they were able to hit a free throw to tie it, and a free throw to win it. But that final sequence had ya holding your breath. Does this team have a glimmer of hope to go deeper in the tournament than ever before?

Yep.. TONS of brackets busted today, lol.. Low seeds defeating high seeds everywhere..

Again, this makes our Jays win as a high #5 seed even more sweet..as we avoided the upset..As usual, in the NCAA Tournament, anything can happen..and usually does.. I’m just glad the Jays are still Dancin’...

Just saw that this is the first time 4 teams seeded #13 or higher advance to the round of 32. Abeliene Christian gets their first NCAA Tourney win.

I'm still on cloud nine at 11:35 about how much mental fortitude the Jays showed today to win when it looked like the game might have been going south.
