I'm really interested in how Bryce McGowens does this year. Part of me hopes he is a one and done (to boost program prestige that we can get guys to the next level) and the other part hopes he sticks around for another year (to boost long term success).

That's a great point on McGowens. Hopefully if he's one and done he goes 1st round. It looks like Hoiberg is ready to roll this season in Lincoln.

I hope he plays two years and goes in the lottery....kind of a best of both worlds lol.

I agree though. I'm pretty hyped for this season. My old shooting coach was Matt Mar, who played for Nebraska early in the Danny Nee era. He thinks the timing is right for Nebraska basketball to really take off.

I would take that. 2 years with his brother, then move on.

I graduated from UNL in 1990, so right before the Nee era. Those Danny Nee teams were a blast to watch, especially since he was up against Billy Tubbs, Johnny Orr, Norm Stewart, Roy Williams and others. It was so much fun.

Huskers win by 39 over Peru State. Other than Verge coming in strong off the bench at point guard, I don't know what else to say. I really don't learn anything from these type of games:

It is just practiced against a different jersey with a take at the gate.

Nebraska was a 17 point favorite last night and lost. No doubt about it here we go again. There were signs of a weak and lazy defense in the first game against Peru State. This Nebraska team is going to have a rough year again and it looks like Creighton is almost a for sure loss next week. Nebraska will have lost 2 out of the first 3 or 4 games!

Oddsmakers have set the under/over as 7 on the number of games in the BIg 10 that Nebraska will win this year. I hate to say it but I really like the under. There are 20 in conference Big 10 games this season for Nebraska and there is no way they win 7 games.

If they don’t rebound better you may be right. Also need more production from their bench.

Freshman Bryce McGowens scored 29 points, including nine in a furious late rally, and Nebraska turned aside Sam Houston 74-65 on Friday night to avoid a second-straight upset to start the season.

Huskers shot 18.2% from 3 pt and 40.7% overall.

They were trailing at halftime time. My first thought was, Frost might not be the only one that might have to shake up his staff.

I could not find the game on the radio anywhere last night.

I was interacting with Gary Sharp last week on Twitter, UNO and UNL have exchanged contracts and now finalizing details to resume playing each other in basketball. I am assuming the new AD at UNO will proceed with this.

Hasn’t played this half, happened during first half.

Nebraska falls 77-69 which is a bummer, but the real potential downer is the right foot injury to Trey McGowens.
