Why do we always think FT attempts have to be equal? Sometimes one team is more aggressive driving to the hoop instead of settling for jump shots.

I'd worry more about how soft NU is, specifically getting out rebounded by a wide margin. Soft teams don't draw fouls.

Officiating was bad. That doesn't mean they intentionally called more fouls on Nebraska. Granted, the discrepancy was wide, but it's not uncommon for the home team to get a better whistle.
All stats, (like # of fouls, points, rebounds, assists, etc.) are not always equal, but everyone wants # fouls to be equal. Why did NC State outrebound Nebraska by 15? They're probably a better rebounding team. Just like some teams style of play lends itself to drawing more fouls. Or, lazy defense lends itself to committing more fouls.
If the 5 star freshman makes both FT's at the end of the first OT, NU wins the game.

Yes the officiating was bad, as stated previously. which probably lead to the fact that both teams shot a combined 57 total free throws with a difference of 27 between the two teams. Difference is common, we all know this, but a difference to that degree raised my eyebrows especially when the score difference was 4 points. If it didn't to you, fantastic, that's you.

And for the record, I will take Iba over BC

My BC era expenance that I will never forget was in his last year and we played Texas on a Sun There were MAYBE 2500 people in the BOb. a few days before I was in the arena for the Girls Class B state game. There were twice as many people there for that game. Texas was a top 5 team at that time and couldn't even draw to see a great team play

I am not sure on the Iba debate. There was such an opportunity there with so much high school talent in the state, but his style seemed to push them all away, except Hoppen. That slow Moe style was awful to watch. Then you had the issue with the Daily Nebraskan taping the practices that he was not supposed to be having. Collier's teams were similaryly unwatchable. I was a student at UNL when we transitioned from Iba to Nee. Started getting student tickets once Nee was hire.

If anyone could pull that off it was Collier....


Long after it was apparent that Collier was not going to be successful, I remember all the calls to the Husker weekday radio show calling for his replacement. During the Steve Pederson era it was painfully obvious that they were under strict orders to tow the company line. I think Lane Grindle was the host then. I remember the only argument he came up with to counter the calls for Collier's firing (I think the donors had already turned on Pederson by then and he couldn't really afford to buy out Collier) was that so many other good jobs were open would Nebraska be better off giving Collier another year and if it didn't work out there would be less competition then for a good coach. I tried calling in to say he was basically saying we keep a coach for another year that we know will not be successful because our AD can't find a suitable replacement? I was going to propose getting a new AD. Never got past the call screener (and that's the only time I encountered that).

Did Pederson do anything of note that was good? Maybe the south stadium expansion, locker rooms and offices?
