Fortunately I was coaching a rare Friday night high school hockey game, so I was unable to watch or follow at all.nebugeater wrote: Sat Jan 15, 2022 8:44 am That Purdue game was as hard to watch as most.

Sounds like it was over almost from the start.

Just checked the box score for the women game against Iowa. Crazy stat line of 20 fouls called on Nebraska and only 3 on Iowa.

Re: Nebraska Basketball 2021-2022
The Huskers fall to Indiana at home 78-71
The whole game seemed to fluctuate between at 4 to 10 point separation and Indiana could never pull away in addition to the Huskers inability to make any run to get it closer than 4
It was great to see Trey McGowens back on the court after his foot injury against Creighton. He looked decent for the amount of time away and played about 21 Min.
With the 5PM start time and all the success the team had had I would guess from being there that the arena was only 25% full.

It was great to see Trey back on the court. The 5 o'clock games would be rough even for those in Lincoln. For me, I just can't make those on a weeknight coming from Omaha.nebugeater wrote: Tue Jan 18, 2022 6:23 am The Huskers fall to Indiana at home 78-71

I work in Omaha, Live in Gretna, and made the game in Lincoln 20 Min before tip. The only way I made it work was a 3 - 4 PM meeting that was on Microsoft teams. Did the meeting from my phone/car and was passing the weigh stations when the meeting wrapped up. One win for social distancing!

Re: Nebraska Basketball 2021-2022
I saw the Creighton post where someone said that the Jays forgot there was two haves.
Well, the Huskers forgot the game was 40 Min rather than 38 1/2.
Of all the losses this year this one was the most painful to watch.
Husker loose to Rutgers 63-61 after leading all but the least 90 sec or so. Many times up by 8 or 9 points

Well, it is good to see the Huskers finally break the seal and get their first conference win..
Several Husker basketball fans who I know, didn’t think NU would accomplish even that (one conference win) this season. I’d like to see them snag a couple more…

Big win by the women's basketball team. I think every night we step on the court, we have a legit shot at winning. Young team too.
And we're adding Maggie Mendelson next year. She a top 35 player, mobile 6'7" big who can shoot, pass, great footwork. She leads the #18 high school girls team in the nation right now.

Nebraska (19-6, 8-6 Big Ten) took down the Big Ten-leading and No. 5-ranked Indiana Hoosiers (18-4, 10-2) 72-55 on Monday night in front of a raucous crowd at Pinnacle Bank Arena.Doctor Fate wrote: Mon Feb 14, 2022 8:05 pm Big win by the women's basketball team. Re: Nebraska Basketball 2021-2022
I've always thought that Juwan Howard was a clown. My favorite play of all-time that involved him was when the Heat played the Lakers in like 2010. Ron Artest was chasing after a loose ball and realized he wasn't going to get it so he just dove into the Heat bench...right into Juwan Howard, who spilled his water on himself. Juwan hopped up like he was going to do something but looked Artest in the eyes and decided to just sit back down.

Nebraska on Right End of Rout at Penn State
The Husker men left no doubt Sunday night in Pennsylvania
For one night in 2022, everything went right for Nebraska men's basketball.
The Huskers shot lights out (58.2%), put forth constant effort on the defensive end, and never stopped fighting for the full 40 minutes en route to a 93-67 win at Penn State. This is the first time under coach Fred Hoiberg that NU has reached eight wins in a season.

I was busy with hockey this weekend. When I finally got home yesterday and saw the halftime score, I just assumed it was the women's team. Then I remembered the women's team already lost at PSU. Fortunately I then realized it was the men and was able to watch most of the 2nd half.

Alberts announces Hoiberg will return to coach Huskers with restructured deal
“Husker 247” wrote:Put the speculation to bed. Fred Hoiberg will be back as the Nebraska men's basketball coach next season, Trev Alberts confirmed during his monthly appearance on the Husker Radio Network.
Hoiberg will continue on as the head Husker with a restructured deal according to the Huskers athletic director, who then offered some of the financial details.
"I've been here about 7 1/2 months now, so not a real long time, but I've been working with Coach Hoiberg and he and I have been meeting weekly, a lot like I did with Coach Frost," Alberts said in announcing his decision. "And the reality is that both of us agree the results just aren't acceptable. This was kind of what I hoped for and expected. Especially with the precedent set with Frost. Will be interesting to see if there are staff changes. I expect at least one.
