Heinrich Harrberg did a pretty good job tonight. He had better control of the ball and was able to connect with his receivers better than Sims. They should just start him next week against Louisiana Tech.

So little excitement for the game from me at least. I forgot to make a prediction. I checked in on the score from time to time and I was a bit concerned that at the half it was only 21-3. But I suppose they pulled it out and I should be happy about that. Just would have like to see more sitting time for starters and more playing time for backups. Not there yet. But from the stats I saw, Heinrich Harrburg played better. Hard to tell if it's cause that was the easiest opponent so far or what. Glad they got the W.

Gabe Ervin and Rahmir Johnson are out for the season.

Nebraska Loses Two Top Running Backs to Injury

The run game was the best thing the offense had going. The offense could really struggle now if the OL continues to be mediocre. The prospect of 5 more wins is looking increasingly dim.

I'm watching the game right now. Nebraska just faked a field goal and that set up the touchdown! Wow!

Well, they won. It wasn't pretty, but at least they got it. Those 2 touchdowns that got called back due to penalties really pi$$ed me off, though.

Around the rest of the college football world, Penn State shut out Iowa 31-0. Ohio State beat Notre Dame 17-14 on a last second touchdown. And Colorado is no longer undefeated. Oregon beat them 42-6.

"Winning streak" lol. Gotta take all the moral victories we can get. Yes, wins, but against who? Big Ten play starts next with Michigan. At least it's at home. I do like their odds after that though, with Illinois, Northwestern, and Purdue. Maybe they'll then beat Maryland and go 6-6. I just don't know.

I feel like Haarberg has earned his spot as starter. Jeff Sims is fine and all, but they could keep him as a back up, but use him as a wide out (he's fast) in the mean time. I don't seriously think that will happen, but it'd be a better way to use him on the team than just ride the bench when we could use some people in the receiving corps

We are in desperate need of a bonafide playmaker. Whether it be a running back or a wideout, there is no one that is keeping the defenses on their heels. They can afford to keep a balanced approach to their lineups against NU and it shows.

Has anyone else noticed that the Blue Cross Blue Shield billboard on EB I-80 @ Giles doesn't show the NU FB scores anymore? Now it's something like "The greatest fans in college football drive on this road". Cringe.

However given the past years, maybe they're trying to cut down on road rage incidents.

Why don't they put up the Women's VB scores?

I did notice this past weekend the DOT sign near Mahoney had a huge phrase mentioning that there is heavy traffic and to maintain a safe driving distance. I am totally fine with the message but they need to be concise and short with these messages. People were slowing down to 10 mph just to read the sign, almost causing several accidents.

They need to figure out a way to get Sims in on some more plays. But Haarberg needs to keep playing at QB. Just his ability to better protect the ball gives the Huskers more of a chance to win.

Michigan Wolverines vs Nebraska Huskers;
Lou Holtz responds;
Mel Tucker Fired

Jim Harbaugh and his Michigan Wolverines hit the road for the first time this season to face Matt Rhule and his Nebraska Cornhuskers Saturday. Despite Harbaugh's 3 game suspension to begin the season, the Wolverines march into Memorial Stadium with a 4-0 record. Michigan Wolverines quarterback JJ McCarthy leads the country by completing 80 percent of his passes. And the Wolverines running attack is led by Blake Corum who spurned a chance to play in the National Football League in order to play one more season for the Maize and Blue. Plus, Michigan's scoring defense is number one in the country, allowing less than 6 points per game.

Mich 38 NU 10

Very little hype about this game. I suspect Michigan will try and get some of the non-starters some playing time.

This team is just way to good for Nebraska. I hope we don't see another defense this stout for the rest of the year. I would put Sims or Purdy in during the 4th quarter, just to get them some playing experience.

Lol, I even made the effort to find out when the last time Nebraska was shutout. 1996. Then boom, a touchdown. I almost want a shutout to happen more than a trash time touchdown. It was just totally meaningless.

Arizona State 1996. 19-0. That was the last time Nebraska was shut out.

Rhule: 'We’ll find out who we are Friday night';
Huskers look ahead to Illinois after 35-point loss to No. 2 Michigan.

The Huskers’ top-ranked rush defense allowed 249 yards on the ground and an additional 187 through the air, as the No. 2 Wolverines rolled to a 45-7 win.

What made me feel better was after the game seeing the players all hug and pat each other on the shoulders and backs. It showed they have a tremendous amount of respect for one another.

It happened with regularity under Frost..I remember Ohio St coming in to Lincoln a few years back and winning 56-7..

In any case, the Huskers lost to a team that I fully expect, when all is said and done, to be playing in the National Championship game..

This Illinois game Friday evening will be a good test to gauge progress…

Ciao..LiO…Peace

Yeah, if you didn't see that loss to a #2 team coming then maybe reevaluate your expectations. Frankly, under Frost or the guy before him it would've been worse. Let's see that bounce back on Friday test their resiliency.
