I saw KC has a Monopoly version when I was down there this weekend... not sure of the landmarks on their board, but for $45, I will not be buying the Omaha game. IMO, it's done terribly. I get it... it's about the money they received for the exposure on the board. But it's an awful representation of what Omaha is made up of.

Was available at Costco for a lot less than $45

EDIT:
I went back and looked at one of my earlier posts on this thread, and it was $24.99

Aside from any shortcomings of the Omaha board, Monopoly is a very unpleasant game to play.

The sheer popularity of the game, in addition to the MANY versions out there, would indicate you are in the minority.

It was designed to be frustrating to show the pitfalls of Monopolies

Well then, they must have charged a premium for featuring a business name. Maybe some businesses were not aware or the fee was a bit high for what they were asking, or maybe there was not ample time for businesses to consider. I don't know the specifics on how it works with these boards, so we'll do with what we have. At least we have a Monopoly board.

I know I could have bought the board at Costco for $25, but I wanted to support one of the local vendors in the Christmas themed Heartland of America Park, so I didn't mind getting it more expensive there two weeks ago. Boy was the park teaming with people!

Even though many of us know how such a wonderful hidden gem of a midsized city Omaha is in the Midwest. The board in itself did give me the impression that Omaha is mainly a natural feature city, farming city.

Here's the Kansas City version, I get a good vibe looking at KCs board, with only one park "Loop Park" but filled with attractions, I can literally taste the BBQ by looking at the board, especially with the red undertones, the BBQ Capital space and I am not a BBQ kind of person!

Hopefully Omaha gets a revision in the future that better markets our wonderful mid-sized city.
Home sweet, home...Omaha!

I have to agree with remline, I feel like people enjoy buying novelty versions of the game (Star Wars Monopoly, Harry Potter Monopoly, Omaha Monopoly, etc.) more than they actually like PLAYING Monopoly. I doubt it's a top choice at family game night and I doubt if you ask the businesses around town running board game cafes and whatnot that they'd tell you it's one of the most played. There are just so many better board games that have come out in the last 30+ years.
